Feature Question: What’s the Best Change You’ve Made to Your Business Throughout COVID-19?

16 September 2020

The rise of the pandemic has meant frequent change has become par for the course. As part of our feature questions series, we’ve reach out to those in the industry and asked: What’s the best change you’ve made to your business throughout COVID-19?

A great question and there is no one single change rather a series of changes that have evolved as circumstances unfold.

The best answer would be the combination of technological change and development along with the willingness of our team to embrace new ways of operating. In doing so, we find new levels of enthusiasm amongst the team in uncertain times. This has created the capacity to be more creative in all areas across the business.

The integration of video coupled with social media has allowed us to deliver messages in a timely manner and to stay connected in quick time. We can interact with clientele in a number of digital formats providing better levels of communication, ranging from news and industry updates, digital magazines and direct database marketing.

At times when negative news can be all too consuming, we have been able to voice positive and uplifting stories, sales and rental achievements and support local business.

Our affiliation with Identity Marketing invites inspiration from an outside source, creating efficiencies and delivering quality information in an effective manner.

Online training with Josh Phegan.

Both Josh and I were sceptical about the impact of online training, not having people in the room asking and dealing with questions was a concern. Overwhelmingly the feedback has been that the team love the flexibility of logging in from wherever they are or playing back the training session at a time that suits. This fits in with our belief that people travel at their own speed with regards to learning and our job is to be ready when they are ready to switch on.

Will still believe everyone in a room has an impact and look forward to having one together again but being able to reach as many of the team in a timely manner is extremely important right now. We still deal with questions which are sent through during and after training which enables us to drill down further benefiting the team member.

Moving forward online training has carved out its position as the most effective and timely approach to getting ideas, changes or examples out amongst the team, which we have also adopted in our monthly interviews with award winners.
