“Those who effectively use existing technologies to adapt their offering are finding new ways to connect with their customers.”
In the evolving landscape which the foundations of business today is built on, we fight to find new ways to adapt and connect.
With the COVID-19 crisis loudly grappling our society, a clear break-through has been noticed in those businesses who have adapted quickly with technology and provided a positive message where the narrative becomes bleak. The technology industry has always been at the forefront of developing a better-connected society. However, with the recent crisis comes a necessity for it to rapidly progress and fit new remote working styles and social distancing requirements.
Even so, those who effectively use existing technologies to adapt their offering are finding new ways to connect with their customers. There is an inherent need for business leaders to show they are continuing with as much normality as possible, in a world where normal does not exist.
In the real estate industry, some have adapted by changing their offering to digital platforms, with open homes on Facebook Live, digital auctions or simple measures such as video meetings. These changes make up an arsenal of ways to reach customers and staff, which other industries could learn from. The real estate industry continues to make leaps and bounds in a time where stagnancy is almost inevitable. An impressive feat, considering the sudden changes have been unprecedented for our generation.
Recently, we have seen an influx of quality social media advertising campaigns which are reaching more people than ever before thanks to an increase in users on several platforms. With that, however, comes an array of messaging that is ill-informed and unnecessary. Careful curation of content and advertising is key in times like these when your market is on high alert and wants to find interesting content to engage with. When paired with the effective use of technology, a campaign could potentially be more effective than it was previously. Adapting messaging with appropriate tone for the current climate will support brands in reaching the right audiences, potentially gaining the trust of the market.
Not only does technology allow us to connect with customers from afar, but it also allows us to provide our companies with increased flexibility for employees in how and when work is completed. This crisis showcases the ability for efficient and effective communication to incentivise quality work.
Continuing to uphold staff morale and efficiency is a driving force in ensuring a company runs smoothly, with technology allowing continued consistency. Introducing video conversations allows for a sense of personality in the discussion, while project management programs
create organisation. Will this change the way we work? Perhaps. We have the technology to work remotely, will this push us towards a future of working from exotic locations? Or perhaps just from home. Whatever the case, the COVID-19 crisis has demonstrated a vast variety of inefficiencies that we could be improving on across the
globe. As a smart man once told me, let’s work smarter, not harder.
